北欧の匠が手がけた ヴィンテージの逸品
This is a bentwood lunch box made in Scandinavia. It was originally made as a picnic lunch box to hold sandwiches and the like, but can now be used for a variety of purposes, such as storing small items or as interior decor. In Sweden, this type of box with a lid is called "Svepask," which means "bent box." It is handmade by woodworkers who traditionally practice handicrafts (hemsroid), and each piece is characterized by having the year engraved on it. The material used is a sturdy hardwood, and this piece is made from birch.
The overlapping parts of the bento box are sewn together with tree roots. The joints on this piece have the year of production painted on them, making it "1913." This is an antique wooden piece made 100 years ago. It is decorated with iris and wreath patterns, and has a lovely heart shape on the front. The lid opens and closes by pushing the two tabs at the top sideways.
