復刻されなかったお椀型フォルム モナミの王道ティーカップ
This is the Mon Ami teacup and saucer, a masterpiece by Marianne Westman, who was the main designer at Rörstrand, a long-established Swedish tableware manufacturer. There are teacups and small coffee cups, but this is a large teacup.
Mon Amie means "lover" in French. This cup is a vintage item manufactured in Sweden between 1951 and 1987. While Mon Amie still produces reproduction mugs and other items, this bowl-shaped teacup, made in Indonesia, has never been resold. It is one of Mon Amie's classic items.
The biggest difference between the Monami reproduction and the original is the base color. The reproduction has a pure white base, while the original has a subdued off-white color tone. Also, the blue is uniform and vivid on the reproduction, while the original is hand-painted and varies in shade from piece to piece, giving it an ultramarine-like depth. The reproduction is a mass-produced product that is too white and too blue, while the vintage piece is expressive and you can feel the breath of the artisan.
