フランス語で「恋人」 職人の手仕事が生む群青の濃淡
This Monami sugar bowl is a masterpiece by Marianne Westman, who was the main designer of the long-established Swedish tableware manufacturer Rorstrand. Mon Amie means "lover" in French.
Monami still produces reprinted mugs, etc., but sugar bowls are not resold as they are made in Indonesia. This is an original Monami vintage product manufactured in Sweden. The Sugar Bowl is a relatively rare item that is rarely seen even in vintage pieces, perhaps due to its low distribution volume.
The major difference between Monami's reprint and the original is the color of the base. The reprint version has a pure white background, but the original has an off-white and subdued color tone. In addition, the blue in the reprint is uniform and bright, but the original is hand-painted, so each piece has a different shade of blue, similar to ultramarine blue. The reprint version is a mass-produced product that is too white and too blue, but the vintage version is rich in expression and allows you to feel the spirit of the craftsman.
