スウェーデンの老舗名窯が紡いだ 北欧ヴィンテージの逸品
It is a large plate of the Elizabeth series of the famous Swedish kiln Rorstrand. Designed by Marianne Westman, it is a hand-painted vessel manufactured for a relatively long period of time from 1961 to 1980. Rolstrand has many vivid designs, but the Elizabeth series has a particularly subdued color scheme. The rounded form and the dark grass color tone that wraps the whole make it both cute and heavy. It also has a Japanese-Western atmosphere, and the colors are used to blend in with the Japanese dining table.
Since it is quite large at just under 25cm, please use it as a serving plate. Because it is not so tall and has a flat shape, it is suitable for arranging thin food items.

About Marianne Westman

Marianne Westman ( Marianne Westman, 1928-2017)
Born in the Dalarna region in central Sweden, known for the Dalarna Horse. In 1950, at the age of 22, he joined Rorstrand as a designer, and until 1971, he created many designs. It is said that she was initially reluctant to work as a designer for a major pottery manufacturer. It seems that he really wanted to open his own pottery workshop in his hometown of Dalarna. However, her monami pattern quickly became a representative design of the Swedish mid-century, and for 21 years she was active as the main designer of Rorstrand. Westman 's works are characterized by many bohemian designs that are conscious of plants and freehand drawings.
