スウェーデンの国民的作家が生んだ 手のひらに宿る北欧の物語
Lisa Larson founded the Swedish Consumers Association in 1994. This is a limited edition plate produced in small batches at the request of Konsumentföreningen (Consumer Co-ops) , which is the equivalent of a consumer cooperative in Japan. Lisa Larson was commissioned to create this plate to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the local consumer cooperative in the eastern part of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, where Gustavsberg is located. This work is a rare item that was not for sale and was distributed to members of the co-op.
The front of the plate features a picture of the Gustavsberg building, a long-established Swedish ceramics manufacturer where Lisa Larson worked for many years. Gustavsberg is located on the waterfront, making it ideal for transporting tableware by water. The company's emblem is known for its anchor mark, and the plate also features a ship and mermaid, further highlighting this fact.
Lisa Larson left Gustavsberg in 1979 to work as a freelancer, but was welcomed back to the company in the 1990s with generous compensation, allowing her to focus on her own creative endeavors. The work was produced in Gustavsberg's in-house workshop, Keramik Studion (K-Studion). Lisa Larson, already a world-renowned artist, produced this piece with a high level of technical skill.
