スウェーデンの国民的作家が生んだ 手のひらに宿る北欧の物語
This is a one-of-a-kind (unique piece) rooster figurine made by Lisa Larson for Gustavsberg in the 1950s. This is the actual piece, the photo of which is featured in Lisa Larson's RETRO book. It is one of the little-known and mysterious works known as the "Rib Series," which are made entirely from animal skeletons.
The Rib series includes several animals, including horses and birds, but no two pieces of each animal are the same. Later mass-produced Lisa Larson pieces were modeled after the Rib series. The Rib series is a unique piece that became the backbone of Lisa Larson's well-known works.
This piece, "Rooster (Tuppfågel)", became the prototype for the later Väggplattor (wall-hanging ceramic tile) series. The Väggplattor series was released in 1966. The back of this piece has the date 1961 written on it, which shows that Lisa Larson had been working on a new concept five years before the series was released. This is a one-of-a-kind piece that became the origin of the Väggplattor series, which would later become world famous. The back is signed by LISA L.
Lisa Larson's signatures are overwhelmingly limited to initials of her surname, but this is a rare piece in which she signs her full name. It is thicker than the other pieces in the Rib series, and is of very high quality.
We were fortunate enough to be able to acquire this piece. Since her death, Lisa Larson's work has become even more valuable. This piece will never be available again, so it is worth the price. Please take this opportunity to see it.
