Gustavsberg Edward Lindahl Owl Figurine
Gustavsberg Edward Lindahl Owl Figurine
At Swedish well-established earthenware maker, Gustavsberg company An owl figurine made in the 1960s . Even the adult little owl (small owl) is modeled after a small owl of around 25 cm. Gustavsberg had a department that mass-produced tableware for the masses, and a department called G-Studion, where famous designers such as Stig Lindberg and Lisa Larson produced artistic porcelain art works. This is a work made in the latter atelier. The feature is that the hand sign of the G mark is drawn on the bottom.
The little owl is an owl that is depicted in Greek mythology as a messenger of the goddess Athena, and in Western philosophy, it appears in Minerva's owl parable. This work has three variations. Three owls have been created: a round face, a wink, and a bristling owl, and this is the bristling version. The eyes and wings are all hand-painted, and the texture creates an atmosphere like wood carving.
The author is Edward Lindahl. Lindahl is an illustrator who originally drew illustrations for newspapers. Although he was not an exclusive designer, he supplied this owl design to Gustavsberg in the 1960s. Although it was the only ceramic elephant produced by Gustavsberg, the owl became Lindahl's representative work. Although it is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, it is a figurine that has a strong presence in the eyes.
