北欧の新緑をテーブルに リンドベリの代表作
This is an extra-large square plate from the Berså series, designed by Stig Lindberg, a leading Swedish modern design master, in 1961. This is a vintage square plate manufactured in Sweden between the 1960s and 1970s.
There are reproductions of the Versa series, but there are differences compared to the originals, such as the color of the leaves.
It is no exaggeration to say that Scandinavia is a region where half the year is spent in winter. Not only is it extremely cold, but there are only about four or five hours of sunlight in winter. A distinctive feature of Scandinavian tableware is that it is full of designs that give off a sense of warmth even on such winter days. The lush green of the leaves brings a touch of fresh greenery to the dining table. Berså (Berså, Bersjö) means gazebo, and the design evokes the feeling of a cool afternoon fika, spent in a corner of a garden.
