It is a phantom masterpiece crocus of Finland's leading tableware manufacturer ARABIA. Crocus is a kind of iris flower. There are three types of crocus plates: black and white, color, and gray rim, but this is the black and white version. Crocus is a series that was manufactured for only two years from 1978 to 1979. In recent years, reprints of mugs, bowls and 17 cm plates have been produced.
However, the reproduction version is made in Thailand and has a sweet form, and the canister, cup & saucer, teapot, etc. seen in the original Crocus are not reproduced. It is a popular item in the home country, and it is rare to see it in the vintage market, and the market price is also high. This 17cm plate is a vintage version with an outward rim shape. The reprinted version is a flat plate with an inwardly curved rim. The characteristic of vintage is that it feels light when you hold it and follows the form of a traditional Nordic tableware cake plate.

It is in good condition with no cracks or chips, but you can see slight cutlery marks on the surface when light shines through. The back has marks from the manufacture. Only the upper left plate can be seen intrusion when viewed through the light. Intrusions are cracks that run through the glaze surface during cooling after firing in the kiln, and are not damage to the body itself. It occurs during manufacturing and passes the manufacturer's inspection.
