Atelier FAUNI is a line of antique Moomin dolls by Tove Jansson, handmade in Finland between 1950 and 1971. This is Misa, a maid who works as a maid for the Moomin family. She is a serious and unhappy girl who later transforms into an actress. This is her appearance as an unfortunate maid before her transformation, with messy hair and a one-piece dress.
Atelier Fauni is known for the painstaking hand-sewing of each piece, using genuine leather for the hands, feet, and face, wool for the body and hair, glass beads for the eyes, and even Marimekko fabric. Many materials are used for small dolls, such as: Due to their high quality and tasteful texture, they are also known as ``imaginary Moomin dolls''. In an unusual story, textile designer Helena Kuuskoski was personally creating this item, and Tove Jansson liked it enough to approve it.
Currently on display in a Finnish museum, it has become a collector's item as an extremely rare antique doll. Items in especially good condition are rarely available domestically or internationally, and I think their rarity will continue to increase in the future.
