This coffee cup was produced by Gustavsberg, a leading Swedish ceramic manufacturer. This work comes in two sizes, a coffee cup and a tea cup , but this is a small coffee cup. There are many tea cups in circulation, but the coffee cup size is relatively rare.

The series name Bråhüssar means "blue cavalry". The uniforms of Swedish cavalry soldiers have traditionally been blue, the same color as the national flag, and even today, the cavalry guarding the Royal Palace in Stockholm wear blue uniforms. Bråhüssar incorporates the blue armor worn by the cavalry into its design.

Gustavsberg tableware is generally decorated with a method called "transfer", in which paper with a design is pasted on it, but this is decorated by hand painting, which is relatively rare for the company. The distinctive feature of the Blöhüssar series is that each piece has a significant unevenness in the blue color.

This model was only produced for three years from 1968. The reason for this is that there were significant individual differences in the blue color, making it difficult to produce standardized identical pieces.

Stig Lindberg (1916-1982)

Born in Umeå, the central city of northern Sweden. Originally from Stockholm's art school Konstfack ( Learn painting at Konstfack. He joined Gustavsberg in 1937 and gradually rose to prominence under the tutelage of his mentor, Wilhelm Koge. Twelve years later, in 1949, he succeeded Koge as the company's art director in charge of design.

Since then, Lindberg has released numerous works as a standard bearer of Swedish modernism in the mid-20th century. During Lindberg's time, the Gustavsberg workshop was at its peak, and its works from that time are recognized as works from the golden period known as ``mid-century,'' and are highly valued.
