リサ・ラーソン（本名：インガ・リサ・アルハーゲ）は、1931年9月2日、スウェーデン南部のスモーランド地方・ヘルルンダ（Härlunda）で生まれました。2歳のときに母を亡くし、製材所を営む父とともに暮らしながら、幼い頃から木の端材で彫刻を作ったり、近所の風景をスケッチして売ったりと、豊かな想像力を発揮していたといいます。
