ARABIA Tunturi coffee cup and saucer

It is a vintage coffee cup from Arabia, a representative ceramic maker in Finland. The series name Tunturi is a very specific word that describes the "mountains" and "hills" of Lapland in northern Finland.

Lapland is an area close to the far north, and the land is desolate in winter, but when the temperature rises in summer, the vegetation in the mountains suddenly becomes rich, so it is known as a treasure trove of alpine plants. The large hand-painted flowers are inspired by the flowers blooming in Lapland. The earth-colored main body reminds us of the land that appears when the snow melts, and you can feel the nature of the short spring that visits Northern Europe. The cup is soft to the touch, and the daisy flowers drawn in chocolate brown are not too flashy and create a calm atmosphere suitable for everyday use.

The form was designed by Ulla Procoppe, who is famous in Valencia. It has the same shape as the big hit model Rusca, and is called the S model. Olga Osol, who was in charge of the pattern design, served for a long period of time from 1924 to 1971 for ARABIA and played an active role for a long time.
