ARABIA Valum Tea Cup & Saucer
ARABIA Valum Tea Cup & Saucer
■ Product introduction
It is a phantom item manufactured in the mid-century by Finland's leading tableware manufacturer ARABIA. In the Valum series, coffee cups rarely appear on the vintage market, but tea cups are a phantom item that has never been distributed, including in Finland.
Tableware manufactured by ARABIA was stamped with the year and month of manufacture until the early 1970s. 9-67 (September 1967) is stamped on the back of the saucer, indicating that it is a so-called mid-century golden age piece. The form design is by Ulla Procoppe, who is famous for Valencia, and the pattern designer who is in charge of decoration is Esteri Tomra, who is famous for crocuses. Poppies and poppy flowers are drawn on the cup, and it is a prototype model of Flora, which was jointly created by the two and was released later.

There is a mark on the base of the cup that was cut off from the potter's wheel called the bottom of the thread, and it can be seen faintly that dirt has entered over the years. In addition, the glaze on the top of the handle feels thin where it is rough. There is a cutlery mark in the center of the saucer, but it is minor, and overall it is in a beautiful condition with no cracks or chips. This is the last customer for Varm. Since it is a rare item, I think it will be difficult to receive it in the future.
