Rörstrand Mon amie creamer
Rörstrand Mon amie creamer
Monami creamer is a masterpiece by Marianne Westman, who was the main designer of the long-established Swedish tableware manufacturer Rorstrand.
This one does not have the VDN mark engraved from 1951 to 1973 on the backstamp, so it was manufactured in Sweden between 1974 and 1987, when Monami discontinued production. Monami still produces reprinted mugs, etc., but it is made in Indonesia, and the creamer is not resold. This is an original vintage item.
The major difference between Monami's reprint and the original is the color of the base. The reprint version has a pure white background, but the original has an off-white and subdued color tone. In addition, the blue in the reprint is uniform and bright, but the original is hand-painted, so each piece has a different shade of blue, similar to ultramarine blue. The reprint version is a mass-produced product that is too white and too blue, but the vintage version is rich in expression and allows you to feel the spirit of the craftsman.
