Gustavsberg Bersa Vintage Cylindrical Bowl Set of 3 BF08
Gustavsberg Bersa Vintage Cylindrical Bowl Set of 3 BF08
A classic Berså bowl from Gustavsberg, a long-established Swedish tableware manufacturer. It will be sold as a 3-piece set. The designer is Swedish mid-century master Stig Lindberg. Lindberg created this leaf design in 1961. Berså is a word that has not been used much in Swedish in recent years, but it means a gazebo and is a space set up in a corner of a park to take a rest.
It is no exaggeration to say that half of the year in Northern Europe is winter. Not only is it extremely cold, but there are only four to five hours of sunshine in winter. The characteristic of Scandinavian tableware is that it is full of designs that make you feel warm even on such a winter day. Versa's lush greenery has a mysterious charm that brings fresh greenery and a refreshing breeze to the dining table.
There is also a reprinted version of the Versa series, but the color is lighter green than the vintage and the shape of the leaves is uniform. The characteristics of vintage are the vivid green color and the beauty of the back stamp. Also, cylindrical bowls are only available in vintage, and reprints are only bowl-shaped. In addition, the reprint version has no decoration on the outside, and the leaf pattern is drawn only on the inside.

About Stig Lindberg
Stig Lindberg (1916-1982)
Born in Umeå , a city in northern Sweden. After studying painting at Konstfack , the capital Stockholm, he joined Gustavsberg in 1937 . Twelve years later, in 1949 , he succeeded Wilhelm Koge as the company's art director. Since then, Lindberg has released numerous works as a standard-bearer of Swedish modernism in the middle of the 20th century. The Gustavsberg company in the era when Lindberg was active reached its heyday, and even now the works of that time are recognized as the work of the golden age called "mid-century" and have high value. Gustavsberg had an in-house atelier called G-Studion ( G Studio) apart from the mass-produced line, where young artists such as Lisa Larson worked hard to produce one-of-a-kind art pieces. Lindberg has also produced many atelier works by exercising his skills with young artists. Lindberg retired from the front line in 1980 and opened a workshop in Italy where he retired, but died two years later.
