Gustavsberg faience plate by Stig Lindberg.

【Product introduction】
Faience ware manufactured in the mid-century (1950s), which is said to be the golden age of Gustavsberg. Faience ware is a type of pottery in which red clay is coated with white glaze and painted. On the back there is a "G" hand sign indicating that it was made in Gustavsberg's studio. It seems to have been used as a decoration and is in good overall condition.

[Condition] ★★★★☆ (4: Good)
There is one place where the glaze is not applied to the back sleeve (3rd photo). It seems that it was used as a decorative plate. No signs of use as tableware. Good vintage item.

[Stig Lindberg and Gustavsberg Workshop]

Gustavsberg was divided into a department that manufactured mass-market products and a workshop where artists painted. The faience plate was produced in the latter workshop. The hand sign "G mark" indicates that Stig Lindberg himself is the official endorsement. Lindberg's workshop was called G-Studion, and young painters were showing their skills. Usually the painter's signature is drawn, but this plate does not. It was probably painted as a study. However, the workmanship is good, and the colorful flowers are drawn all over, reminiscent of a Swedish spring day.
