Gustavsberg Bengt Berglund Flower shaped porcelain plate in turquoise blue
Gustavsberg Bengt Berglund Flower shaped porcelain plate in turquoise blue
An unusual turquoise blue ceramic plate produced in the 1970s by Gustavsberg, one of Sweden's leading long-established pottery manufacturers. The designer was Bengt Berglund, who designed one-of-a-kind pieces and decorative bowls. This is one of the works of contemporary art that expresses the petals in various colors and reconstructs them linearly. With a unique sense of color, the cool outer petals and the flower pillars are expressed in a beautiful yellow color like dense. Since Berkland's work was produced in small numbers, it is relatively rare among Gustavsberg products remaining in modern times.
■ Detailed specifications
Manufacturer: Gustavsberg / Gustavsberg
Designer: Bengt Berglund
Age: 1970s (estimated)
Country of manufacture: Sweden
Condition: ★★★★☆ (4.5: Excellent)
The back has a slight dullness due to aging, and some of the outermost petals of the ceramic plate lack glaze at the time of manufacture. I presume that this is not due to cracks or chips, but that the glaze was not applied sufficiently during the manufacturing process. Overall, there is no penetration and the coloring is excellent, and the original seal remains, making it a very beautiful product that retains the appearance at the time of manufacture.
