スウェーデンの国民的作家が生んだ 手のひらに宿る北欧の物語
This ceramic tile was created by Lisa Larson in 1984. This piece was created by the ceramic artist Lisa Larson as a one-of-a-kind piece.
The work is dotted with various elements resembling crosses, moons, and praying figures, and the work itself is a collage (a work of art created by cutting and pasting). A similar collage work is featured on page 98 of Lisa Larson's RETRO book, and this work is similar to that.
When viewed as a whole, the work appears to have a cross at the top, a roof in the middle, and a person praying at the bottom. Like an abstract painting, this piece can be interpreted in many different ways, but I believe the ceramic tile itself represents "prayer." The bottom is signed by Lisa Larson herself, L. L-84.
Another distinctive feature of the collage pieces is the metal fittings on the back. While most Lisa Larson ceramic panels are typically fastened with clips, these are held in place by a powerful technique: a wire threaded through wood is attached to the back with glue. The reason for this is probably that the main panel needed to be made thin in order to create a three-dimensional effect in the piece. If the panel had been made too thick, the heat inside the pot would not have been able to pass through as well, which would have caused distortion and twisting, so it is thought that this was done.
Since her passing, Lisa Larson's work has become increasingly valuable. Don't miss this opportunity to see her museum-quality works.
