This precious trio set includes a coffee cup, saucer, and plate from the "Primeur" series, manufactured in the early 1980s by Rörstrand, a long-established Swedish porcelain manufacturer. As the name, which means "firsts" in French, suggests, this is known as the first tableware designed by Signe Persson Melin at Rörstrand.
Design Features
1. The Secret of Pale Blue

At first glance, it appears to be a single bright light blue color, but in fact, it is a print reproduction of the original artwork, which was hand-drawn with fine lines, and you can feel the shading and subtle fluctuations. This pattern, which gives an impression of delicacy and gentleness, is the key point that shows Signe's attention to detail.
2. Orange edging accents

The muted orange lines on the edges of the cups, saucers, and plates create a contrast with the pale blue, bringing the whole set together in an elegant style. The form combines practicality with design, creating a sophisticated atmosphere reminiscent of Scandinavia.
3. Rörstrand crown mark

The base of the cup handle is subtly designed with the brand's iconic crown mark, a detail that highlights the craftsmanship. The back of the cup may also feature Signe Persson Melin's signature, making it a highly collectible item.
Size and usability
• coffee cup
Its size is large enough to hold a typical amount of coffee (approximately 160cc). It's perfect for morning coffee or tea time, and its moderate thickness provides excellent heat retention.
• saucer
The diameter allows the cup to be placed stably and easily, and there is also space for a small snack. The orange line adds a subtle accent.
• plate
The size is convenient for serving toast, cake, and small sweets. Matching the cups and saucers creates a sense of unity and adds a touch of elegance to your table.
Designer: Signe Persson Melin

She once said, "Floral decorations are not always necessary," and excelled in designs that were simple yet conveyed the warmth of handcrafted work. The Primeur series is one of her signature works that strongly reflects her aesthetic sense. Although she had already achieved fame in the 1980s, this work can be considered her first step at Rörstrand.
