北欧の新緑を一杯のお茶に リンドベリの代表作ベルサ
This is a classic Berså egg cup from Gustavsberg, a long-established Swedish tableware manufacturer. This is vintage. The designer is Stig Lindberg, one of Sweden's leading mid-century masters. Lindberg created this leaf design in 1961. Berså is a word that is not used much in Swedish these days, but it means an arbor, and it refers to a space set up for people to take a break, such as in a corner of a park.
It is no exaggeration to say that Northern Europe is a region where half of the year is winter. Not only is it extremely cold, but there are only about 4 to 5 hours of sunlight in winter. A feature of Scandinavian tableware is that it is full of designs that give you a sense of warmth even on winter days. The lush greenery of Bertha has a mysterious charm that brings fresh green color and a refreshing breeze to the dining table.
There is also a reprint version of the Versa Egg Cup, but it has a bowl-shaped, rounded shape. The body type is a vintage unique form.
The reprint version is also a lighter green color and the leaf shape is more uniform than the vintage version. The characteristics of vintage are the vividness of the green color and the subtle fluctuations in each leaf. The back stamp is also beautiful and unique. The backstamp on the reprint version is the company's anchor symbol, and Bertha's original backstamp is gone.
