This is a series of figurines called Baghdad produced by the art department of Gustavsberg, a representative Swedish pottery maker. Designer Bertil Vallien is famous as a person who was responsible for the creation of glass works in Kosta Boda. A total of 7 types of objects were produced for the Bagdad series. This is a design of an Islamic mosque. Valeen was in his twenties at the time of the work, but he accurately expressed the characteristics of the building in an extremely abstract way, giving us a glimpse of his talent.

There are three thin areas where the glaze is not applied to the blue part of the surface. I think that one place is peeling and two places are lacking the original glaze. As a feature of Baghdad products, the glaze on the corners was thin and easily peeled off, and it seems that it was difficult to adhere. The main body itself is in a beautiful condition with no major damage and no feeling of use.
