1970s Iittala Vintage Beer Mug 450ml
1970s Iittala Vintage Beer Mug 450ml
A beer glass designed by Finnish designer Timo Sarpaneva. Sarpaneva is one of the Finnish masters of the 20th century and is known as the person who designed the design of Iittala's "i" mark.
The series name Pisaran Rengas means "ripple" in Finnish. The ripples on the surface of the water are represented by the steps in the middle of the cup. Although it is shorter than the common mugs used in Japan, it is wide and relatively thin in the shape of a large diameter barrel.
At the bottom, you can see the fluctuation unique to vintage glass, and you can feel the remnants of the handwork era. In the 1970s, Iittala glass was made by craftsmen who poured melted glass into a mold, deburred it, and rounded the edges, all by hand. It is a work that shows the goodness of vintage, with fluctuations in each point. This series has been discontinued and is only available in vintage.
