Rörstrand Anemon coffee cup and saucer
Rörstrand Anemon coffee cup and saucer
This coffee and saucer set is from the Anemone series, a masterpiece by the famous Swedish pottery company Rörstrand. This is a cute piece decorated with an anemone flower pattern, and is a rare series that was only produced for a very short period of time, from 1965 to 1968.
Anemon was a pop design for the 1960s, and considering the historical background of the time when traditional wreath patterns were mainstream, its very simple design seemed unorthodox at the time. Anemon gradually became more popular after production was discontinued, but for some reason it has not been resold to this day. Therefore, despite being a popular series, Anemon can only be obtained as a vintage item.
A characteristic of Anemone is that the glaze on the surface is thin and weak, so it is easily scratched and cutlery marks are easily noticeable. In addition, the production period was short, so those in good condition are rare. This time, we have received one in very good condition.
