Liquor glass by Tapio Wirkkala, a representative Finnish designer. Tapio Wirkkala is a legendary designer at Iittala, and a master of 20th-century Finnish Scandinavian modernity who was involved in all kinds of industrial design, including fixtures, furniture, and stamps.
The series name Kekkerito means "feast" in Finnish. There are multiple size variations in the same series. This is a large goblet glass. It has a massive design and a capacity of about 400ml, which is quite large with more than 450ml when full. The inner bottom of the glass is rounded and hollow, and the overall design is composed of soft curves. It is a work with a very beautiful presence, with a glass surface that looks like it has been carved out of natural ice and freshness. The series is currently out of print and has not been reprinted, so it is only available in vintage.

Tapio Wirkkala
Tapio Wirkkala (1915-1985)
An important figure in Finnish industrial design, he left behind a genius in many different areas of design. His extensive body of work ranges from glass, furniture and product design to sculpture, urban planning and Finnish banknotes. While his reputation was international and he held exhibitions in various places, he was a nature lover and a loner who lived in a mountain hut in a deep forest area. His unique perspective has brought him numerous awards, most notably the three-time Gold Medal of the Milan Triennale.
In 1946, Wirkkala, who won his first design award at the Iittala competition, became the company's art director, increasing its reputation worldwide. As for his achievements, there are more than 400 glass works produced for Iittala, especially the Ultima Thule series and the Tapio series, which are still loved by many people today.
