Arabia's pronominal hand-painted tableware Valencia cutting board. The Valencia series includes tea cups, soup turins, juicers, pitchers, teapots, and other tableware. This is a relatively rare round cutting board.
The series name Valencia is the name of a port town in the southeastern part of Spain, and the deep cobalt blue color expresses the dull color of the Mediterranean sea and the strong sunlight. Valencia was designed by Ulla Procoppe in 1961 and has become a timeless masterpiece with the most antique fans among ARABIA products. Procoppe is a legendary designer who was also responsible for the design of the long-run product Ruska and the rare Flora. She died of illness in 1968 at the young age of 47, but she was recuperated in the Canary Islands in Spain, and it is transmitted that Procope loved the Spanish seaside throughout her life. After her death, Valencia was produced in Finland for over 40 years until 2002, just like the other series. Since then, it has not been reprinted, and the only ones currently available are those on the vintage market.
This was produced between 1961 and the 1970s when production started because the hand sign on the back is handwritten. Valencia temporarily ceased production in the 1980s, but after the revival, it is stamped as ARABIA with a type stamp. Valencia, with its handwritten signature, is the oldest vintage piece. UP is the initials of Ulla Procoppe, signed by the painter's initials separated by slashes. In addition, the cutting board has not been reprinted since the 1980s, so its rarity is high. Originally used as a cutting board or pot stand, it can also be used as a wall hanging and looks great as an interior decoration.
