Condition: ★★★★☆ (4.5: Very good condition) It is in excellent condition with no history of use as tableware and almost no paint loss. There is a burnt grain on the inside of one of the handles, and there is a spot where the glaze is not applied to the bottom. All of these items occur during manufacturing and have been inspected by the manufacturer. It is in top condition among the Bersa vintages available on the market, and due to its rarity, it is quite rare for this item to arrive in stock. |

This is a very rare soup turin from Gustavsberg, a long-established Swedish tableware manufacturer. It was the least produced item in the Bertha series, and is the largest tableware in the series. It was originally made as a soup chulin (heater), but can be used for a variety of purposes such as storing small items and decorations. It has a very impressive size and can be called the king of the Versa series.
The designer is Stig Lindberg, one of Sweden's leading mid-century masters. Lindberg created this leaf design in 1961. Berså is a word that is not used much in Swedish these days, but it means an arbor, and it refers to a space set up for people to take a break, such as in a corner of a park.
It is no exaggeration to say that Northern Europe is a region where half of the year is winter. Not only is it extremely cold, but there are only about 4 to 5 hours of sunlight in winter. A feature of Scandinavian tableware is that it is full of designs that give you a sense of warmth even on winter days. The lush greenery of Bertha has a mysterious charm that brings fresh green color and a refreshing breeze to the dining table.
There is also a reprint version of the Versa series, but the color is a lighter green than the vintage version. The vintage color is overwhelmingly better than the reprint version, and the form is stylish. In addition, Bertha's reprints include cups, plates, bowls, canisters, etc., and this soup turin is only available as a vintage item. Many of the vintage items available have paint loss and dirt on the bottom, but this one is in the best condition among the ones available, as if it was made yesterday.

Stig Lindberg (1916-1982)
Born in Umeå, the central city of northern Sweden. Originally from Stockholm's art school Konstfack ( Learn painting at Konstfack. He joined Gustavsberg in 1937 and gradually rose to prominence under the tutelage of his mentor, Wilhelm Koge. Twelve years later, in 1949, he succeeded Koge as the company's art director in charge of design.
Since then, Lindberg has released numerous works as a standard bearer of Swedish modernism in the mid-20th century. During Lindberg's time, the Gustavsberg workshop was at its peak, and its works from that time are recognized as works from the golden period known as ``mid-century,'' and are highly valued. Lindberg's studio is called G-Studion, where young designers are demonstrating their skills and producing famous artists such as Lisa Larson.
