This is a vintage coffee cup from the series Linda from the famous Swedish kiln Gustavsberg. It has a stackable form and is a space-saving model manufactured in the 1970s.
Gustavsberg has created tableware that will remain in history with two elements: form and color scheme. This work was created by Stig Lindberg, one of the company's leading designers. Linda is a female name that means "beautiful" in Latin countries, and the same color glaze as Arena is used, and the contrast between the milky white base and the vermilion is a beautiful masterpiece.
Linda is only available in one size coffee cup. Usually coffee cups are small in size, but this one has a relatively large capacity.
The back stamp of the product is engraved with the quality assurance mark VDN . The VDN mark indicates that the product has passed durability tests by the Varudeklarationsnämnden consumer association. It is equivalent to the JIS mark in Japan, and was stamped on Swedish products between 1951 and 1973 .
The Gustavsberg logo on the back stamp is a design that has been used since 1970 without a rope on the anchor. In other words, this item was manufactured between 1970 and 1973.

If you shine a light through the handle of the cup, you can see the penetration. Penetration is a crack that runs on the glaze surface during firing during the manufacturing process, and is not a scratch from use or damage to the body itself. Stig Lindberg
Stig Lindberg (1916-1982)
Born in Umeå, the central city of northern Sweden. Originally from Stockholm's art school Konstfack ( Learn painting at Konstfack. He joined Gustavsberg in 1937 and gradually rose to prominence under the tutelage of his mentor, Wilhelm Koge. Twelve years later, in 1949, he succeeded Koge as the company's art director in charge of design.
Since then, Lindberg has released numerous works as a standard bearer of Swedish modernism in the mid-20th century. During Lindberg's time, the Gustavsberg workshop was at its peak, and its works from that time are recognized as works from the golden period known as ``mid-century,'' and are highly valued. Lindberg's studio is called G-Studion, where young designers are demonstrating their skills and producing famous artists such as Lisa Larson.
