This is a 24cm size dinner plate from Bersa, a classic from Gustavsberg, a long-established Swedish tableware manufacturer. The designer is Swedish master Stig Lindberg. Lindberg created this leaf pattern design in 1961. Bersa (Berså) means arbor, and is a space set aside for people to take a break, such as in a corner of a park. In Scandinavia, where there are many winter days, it has a warm design that allows you to feel the fresh greenery.
It is no exaggeration to say that Northern Europe is a region where half of the year is winter. In winter, there are only about 4 to 5 hours of sunlight. Scandinavian tableware often has designs that give you a sense of warmth even on such winter days. The lush green color of the leaves brings the color of a spring day to your table throughout the year.
There is also a reprint version of Bertha, but the color gloss of the reprint version is a lighter green and a bit dull compared to the vintage version. A characteristic of vintage products is the vividness of the green color, and the color scheme allows you to feel the lush green of fresh greenery. Vintage Versa plates are also characterized by their raised edges. The reprint version has a bowl-like shape that gradually increases in height from the center to the edge, while the vintage version is more similar to a flat plate and is easier to use.
