A vintage tea cup and saucer from the Prunus series from the famous Swedish kiln Gustavsberg. There is currently a reprint of the Prunus series, but this is a vintage teacup manufactured about half a century ago. This is a large sized cup.

The Prunus series is based on the LL model designed in the middle of the 20th century, known as the mid-century. This is the name of the original type of plain pottery, and each series, such as Prunus and Versa, was created by changing the type of transfer paper that was pressed onto the surface.

The series name, Prunus, means plum ("plum" in Japanese), and the plum with its blue fruit is depicted in a circle. The main difference between the vintage and reprint editions is that the vintage backstamp has a bright blue plum. The backstamp of the reprint edition is an anchor mark.

Born in Umeå, the central city of northern Sweden. Originally from Stockholm's art school Konstfack ( Learn painting at Konstfack. He joined Gustavsberg in 1937 and gradually rose to prominence under the tutelage of his mentor, Wilhelm Koge. Twelve years later, in 1949, he succeeded Koge as the company's art director in charge of design.

Since then, Lindberg has released numerous works as a standard bearer of Swedish modernism in the mid-20th century.
