Gustavsberg Bla Husar Bowl 15 cm
Gustavsberg Bla Husar Bowl 15 cm
■ Product introduction This is a medium-sized bowl made by Gustavsberg, Sweden's leading pottery manufacturer. The series name Blohüssar means "blue cavalry". The uniforms of Swedish cavalrymen have traditionally been the same blue as the national flag, and even now the cavalry around the Royal Palace in Stockholm, the capital, wear blue uniforms to protect them. Blohüssar incorporates the blue armor worn by the cavalry into the design as a design.
Gustavsberg's tableware is basically decorated with a method called "transcription", in which paper on which the design is drawn is pasted, but this is a relatively rare hand-painted decoration for the company. The characteristic of the Blöhüssar series is that each piece has a rather uneven blue color. Sometimes the whiteness of the base remains and the blue is not enough, and sometimes the glaze is crushed and the color is almost blue.
This work was manufactured for only three years from 1968. There seems to be a point that it was difficult to make the same one as a standard product because of the large individual differences in the blue color in the background. Even now, in the vintage market, Blöhüssar tends to be highly evaluated as it looks beautiful.
