This ceramic plate was fired at a kiln called Tilgman in Gothenburg, southern Sweden. The design was by a person named Avar Lang. This is an avant-garde ceramic plate with an abstract depiction of orange fruits. Tilgmann Kiln was founded in 1948 by Paul Harald Tilgmann as a workshop that mainly produced art pieces. At its peak in the 1950s and 1960s, more than 10 famous designers competed with each other to publish their works. Each designer had a different theme, such as fruits, plants, or animals, but all of them had one thing in common: they painted on vertically long ceramic plates with glaze, indicating that they were a well-organized workshop.
