A vintage salt box and a ceramic spoon from Arabia, a tableware manufacturer representing Finland in Northern Europe. Designer Gunval Orin Grangvist was in charge of designing mass-produced products at ARABIA, while also having his own atelier in the form of an in-house studio, where he produced handmade works in collaboration with painters.

ARABIA pottery engraved with Ateljer GOG is still very popular. This is a salt box, one of the atelier works. The leaf pattern with blue petals in the center is vivid and the colors are artistic. The bottom is signed with the initials of Grangvist, GOG, and the initials of the painter.

There is a nail hole in the middle of the flower painting on the top so that it can be hung on the wall. Because it is comfortable to sit on, you can place it on a table as it is and use it as an accessory case or as an interior decoration. An original ceramic spoon is also included. It is rare to have a complete set because it tends to be out of stock. It has a capacity of about 1 tablespoon to 1 and a half cups.

■ Details Manufacturer: ARABIA / Arabia Designer: Gunvor Olin Gronqvist / Gunval Olin Grangvist
Age: 1970s (estimated)
Country of Origin: Finland Condition: ★★★★☆ (4: Good product)
At the four corners of the bottom, the pottery clay is transparent due to the lack of glaze. It will be the color of the original soil, not dirt. The vertical streaks on the right side are seen through the light. Penetration can be seen on the bottom of the body. Cracks are cracks that run on the glaze surface during firing during manufacturing, and are those that have passed the manufacturer's inspection. Both the main body and the spoon are dead stock items that have never been used. There is no looseness in the screw on the lid, and it can be opened and closed properly.
