This is a statue of a girl picking flowers created by Lisa Larson in 1989. It depicts a girl wearing a floral garland squatting, picking flowers and making a bouquet. This work is quite rare, as it was created in Lisa Larson's own studio after she left her former studio, Gustavsberg, and became a freelancer.

After leaving Gustavsberg in 1980, Lisa Larson set up her own studio in Ugglevägen, a suburb of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. The atelier was the predecessor of Keramikstudion Gustavsberg (K Studio), which would later return to its former home of Gustavsberg and be established as an independent division.

The works produced during this period are characterized by Lisa's signature "Atelier," which means they are studio works. This indicates that they are not Gustavsberg products, nor K Studio products, but works produced during a period when Lisa Larson was completely freelance.

The cheerful expression in the painting is unusually realistic for Lisa Larson's work, and the texture of the slightly large torso is very similar to the ABC Girls series from the Gustavsberg period. The dress is made of flower petals, and the flower in the outstretched hand looks as if she is picking the flower or offering it to someone.

At the time, Lisa Larson was receiving numerous commissions from companies around the world, leaving her with little time for her own creative endeavors. This piece was created in her spare time. Among her many works, this is an extremely rare piece that has not been published in any catalogues and has never been resold, making it almost impossible to find on the market.

The bottom is inscribed G-berg 89, Sweden. Maj. Atelier. Lisa L 2/5.

It means "Produced by Lisa Larson in her studio on the outskirts of Gustavsberg in May 1989. This is the second of five sculptures." This is a rare piece among Lisa Larson's works that also includes the moon. While many of her works are mass-produced, this piece stands out as unique in that it includes an individual moon.
