This is the masterpiece Eros from Gustavsberg, a long-established Swedish tableware manufacturer. This is a very detailed plate with a unique world view drawn in a light brown touch. Eros has a small plate measuring 19cm, a medium plate measuring 21cm, and a large plate measuring 25cm. This is the largest size in the series at 25cm.

Lindberg's works are known for their continuous deformed patterns, as seen in Berså. However, the Eros plate is made with great detail, and each motif is extremely precise and painted in a painterly manner.

The paintings of a man and a woman in love, the fish swimming in a birdcage and the bird aiming at them, and the crescent moon and flowers in the background are all expressed in a somewhat poisonous, surrealist worldview. The men and women are probably Adam and Eve, with the man wearing clothes and the woman wearing a necklace. In the Bible, the two are said to be completely naked before eating the fruit of wisdom, so I think this is probably what they looked like after they ate the fruit of wisdom. You can feel the story of both of them learning shame, learning how to dress well, and exploring the decadent world of sexual pleasure.

Since then, Lindberg has released numerous works as a standard bearer of Swedish modernism in the mid-20th century.
